March brought a better-supplied market but there was enough competition between buyers for us to see an increase in the average sales price year over year. The first quarter also ended with sales up by 11.2% from 2023.

 

Many areas east of Toronto saw higher prices and sales including Durham Region, Northumberland County, Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough and Prince Edward County. 

 

Price growth is expected to accelerate during the Spring and even more so in the second half of the year, as sellers’ market conditions will begin to emerge in many neighbourhoods. 

 

Anticipated lower borrowing costs in the months ahead will help fuel increased demand for ownership housing.
